John Davies: Prof. John Davies is Co-Director of Partners in Conflict and Partners in Peacebuilding at the Center for International Development and Conflict Management, University of Maryland; and SAIS Professorial Lecturer in Conflict Management, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, Washington DC. He has partnered in peace building initiatives in over 30 countries, and has trained thousands of government, UN, IO and CSO professionals in conflict transformation, prevention and peace building. He has served as consultant to the US Government's State Failure and Political Instability Task Forces, USAID, US Departments of State and Defense, US Institute of Peace, National Defense University, UNDPKO, and several other governments and organizations; and as board member for the Forum on Early Warning and Early Response, the Center for Living Peace and the Shadhiliyya Sufi Center.
