Preventing Violence & Achieving World Peace - The Contributions of the Gulen Movement to World Peace was a conference on the worldwide efforts of the Gulen Movement on achieving world peace. This conference held on October 29, 2009 at University of Maryland, College Park, and aimed aim to understand how to prevent violence and  promote world peace by utilizing the roles religion, media and education. Rumi Forum and Rumi Club were the co-hosts of this conference.
The objective of The Rumi Club is to create a platform where people of goodwill from all cultures and faiths can come together, enjoy diversity, learn from one another, and develop an understanding that can inspire and uplift the whole world. We aim to promote the values of tolerance, understanding, love and flexibility; as a social, intercultural, and intellectual organization. We organize programs to mediate discussions between different ideas, beliefs, and cultures with tolerance, understanding, and peace in conformance of Rumi’s philosophy and teachings.
