This is my second time in Turkey and I must echo the sentiments of my travel partners that you all are the friendliest people I have ever come in contact with and it is here, although I have traveled all over the world, that I feel the most safe. I never felt threatened or that I would be taken advantage of or that anything was going to happen to me, and I think that this is important considering the world we are currently living in.The most impressive part I have found being here is that there is a great deal of respect for the diversity of cultures and I think that the rest of the world should take a look at how it all melds together and works here in order to try and work out the situation everywhere else.
One week before Ali and Mehmet came to my office I had actually done a paper for graduate school on the Fethullah Gulen Movement, and I was really impressed by the Movement and how they were willing to help people outside of Turkey to get an education.
