Fethullah Gulen and the Gulen Movement

 My name is Milldred Steinke. I am Education Director at SanMar Chidlren’s Home. This is my first trip to the Middle East, and I think of all the countries that, that Turkey would be the one to go to first to get an idea of what the Middle East is about. It has such rich history. It has the history of all of our faiths. I do thank the people who put this together, the inordinate amount work that took, what beforehand, during, and I am sure after. I am very grateful for that. I am thinking of memories: My first question I think at the airport I asked Jena what her main memory was. She said the food. I had no idea how true that was going to be. It has just been unbelievable. I also have another memory of the businessmen when we were at the home. These are men who definitely are dedicated to their jobs but they seem to be motivated by their faith, and I would remember them singing those songs, and just clapping and enjoying life, and that is just a memory I will have of successful men who were really motivated by the right things. I just am grateful for the dialog that I have had with the people here, the passion that is in this room for what people do, and I do have hope that in each of our faiths there is a desire to talk, to learn, and to do good, together think of what we can do.
