Professor Leo Dennis Lefebure sharing his experience in Turkey during a trip with RumiForum:

…meeting the people both on the group and the members of the Gulen movement that we’ve met in one city after another, seeing the marvelous historic sites and the scenery of Turkey has been marvelous. Most of my experience in the United States in dialog with Muslims, it’s been with people from the Arab world, from Africa and from South Asia, and this is my first real extended discussions with the Turkish Muslims, and I am very grateful for that. On any level to all of you I commend the Gulen movement for its many many efforts especially in the area of interreligious understanding and I look forward to future context. I am Leo Lefebure, a Catholic priest from the Archdiocese of Chicago. I am a Visiting Professor at Georgetown University, probably will get tenured within the next week or so, and I work in the area of religious pluralism. Georgetown University has launched a new doctoral program in religious pluralism starting in the Fall of 2006, and I will be offering a doctoral seminar most likely in the religious pluralism from the perspective of Religious Studies starting next Fall.
