I can certainly say that everyone has expressed themselves very well , and I agree with the kindness and warmth of the people. Just even today the taxi driver that took us to Sulaimaniya (Mosque), or the taxi driver that brought us home; they did not speak English but they were trying so hard to point things out to us and to tell us what section of the city we were in. They were really trying to communicate which I have not found that in many places with someone who does not know you and will never see you again. That is just one small example of the kindness of the people in general. Before we came here I have sort of a mistaken opinion that I knew Turkey because I had a number of Turkish friends that I had taught English as a second language to. I certainly knew these people and what they were all about and what they thought but what I saw when I came here is a multifaceted culture, with everything of sophisticated and cosmopolitan Istanbul to Urfa in which I felt that I was really in the holy land. I am going back to all of our ancestors, to our father Abraham, and to those prophets who walked out that holy land. I don't think we have ever done very much really to say thank you. .. I do feel that way. I hope that all of us here can spread the message of what a wonderful country Turkey is.
