Fethullah Gulen Tolerance, Dialogue and Peace
Several politically motivated police raid and operations targeting Gulen schools took place in Adana. The schools are known to be affiliated with the faith-based Gülen movement, known also as the Hizmet movement. The raids are seen as government-orchestrated operations to create pressure domestic NGO and civil society organization. According to experts the raids that police carried out are baseless and their execution presents many legal concerns. “These operations, which have no legal or legitimate basis, must be stopped at once,” said deputy chairman of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Levent Gök.
