Kimse Yok Mu’s Aid Campaign Got Rejected Due to Political Polarization in Turkey

Kimse Yok MuKimse Yok Mu is a well-known international nonprofit humanitarian aid and development organization operating in 113 countries around the world. In the beginning of the fall 2015 Kimse Yok Mu charity organization initiated a fundraising campaign to help şehit aileler (şehit: martyr, person who has died while serving the Turkish state) martyr families by collect donations. However, due to political polarization in Turkey Kimse Yok Mu organization is being mistreated due to political pressure by the single party government of AKP.

President of Kimse Yok Mu organization Ismail Cingöz stated that aid campaign is lawful and was prepared in accordance with the requirements mentioned in the law. He does not see any legal reasons for the governor’s office to reject their application.Recently Turkey lost dozens of soldiers and police officers in clashes against PKK militant and other terrorist groups. Therefore such campaign would provide very much needed financial assistance to the families who lost their close relatives in the war against terrorism.
