The Affect of the Hate Speech on the Gulen Movement

An interesting article titled “Hate speech and its impact on the movement” was published in Today’s Zaman on 7th January 2015. The article analyzes the effect of the hate speech made by ruling Turkish government against Gulen Movement. The article makes the analysis using the results of the recently completed academic survey implemented by three researches who surveyed 81 people considering themselves followers of the Gulen Movement. The general observation made in the result of the survey was the fact that the people were not broken down because of the hate speech. They mainly viewed it as a ‘test’ to their beliefs and felt thankful to God whatever was happening around them.
