Prominent Turkish scholar has always stated that he felt the hurts and difficulties of all people like his own regardless of faith, race or ethnicity. Such tragic stories as the ones we’ve been hearing form Japan have devastating effects on Mr. Gulen’s heart and soul; he tries to reach out to those in need and encourage the people around him to do the same.
Fethullah Gülen has donated $15,000 to support post-disaster relief efforts in Japan, which was shaken by a magnitude 9 earthquake and tsunamis last week.
Gülen also released a message stating his condolences for the country, which was published by the Zaman and Today’s Zaman dailies. Gülen said in his message that the earthquake and the ensuing tsunami that took place in Japan, with which Turkey has always maintained friendly relations, has made all of Turkey upset and deeply affected the country.
Gülen also voiced his belief that the Japanese nation will overcome the difficulties created by the disaster and heal their wounds in a short period of time as they did in the past. “Hereby, I wish that God grants the Japanese people patience and extend my condolences to them,” added Gülen.
