Government Conducts Police Raids to Schools in Turkey

witch-hunt-continues-against-gulen-movementOn Thursday, August 20, police officers conducted raids against private schools associated with Gulen movement. 10 private schools in Ankara affiliated with Samanyolu Educational Institutions were raided by police. In addition, in Yalova 50 police officers accompanied with government officials raided prep school. Nobody was allowed to access the school while the raid was in action. According to lawyers and experts the police raids are done in order to create political pressure and spread fear among those who are brave enough to criticize undemocratic developments in Turkey. For this reason various institutions affiliated with Fethullah Gulen have been unlawfully targeted by AKP government since December 2013.
