Fethullah Gulen’s Lawyers Refute Justice Minister’s Statement

bekir-bozdag-fethullah-gulen-movementA Twitter account run by the Islamic scholar’s lawyers denied the recent statements by Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag on Wednesday saying Fethullah Gulen would have returned to Turkey like Khomeini, who returned to Iran from France in 1979, if the corruption probes in December 2013 had caused the downfall of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government. Fethullah Gulen himself dismissed the remarks several times before.

President Erdogan and certain AKP circles have accused the Gulen Movement and its sympathizers in the state bureaucracy of planning to overthrow the AKP government since a countrywide massive corruption scandal that erupted on December 17, 2013 implicating top ranking government members, Erdogan himself, and members of his own family.

The tweets demanded that Bozdağ prove his allegations as he is held responsible for his accusations that Fethullah Gulen will return like Khomeini.
