I have to say that my favorite part of being in Turkey is the people and meeting people and becoming friends with people from Turkey. Turkey is a very important partner for the United States and considered a great friend, and for me, working in government on foreign policy issues, it was very important to understand Turkey better so that I can do my job better, and hopefully help the United States do its job better. And during my time here I’ve been very encouraged by the warmth of people and their openness, both in sharing their experiences, but also discussing what their concerns are, what they really think, discussing ideas, and that’s the idea behind us being here is to exchange ideas and to promote dialogue, because that’s how we will deepen our relationship, and I think that that’s very important and I think it is very important for me and for many people in the United States, and especially the government, that we continue to strengthen the relationship.
